I am not one for enjoying comics or cartoons, but when I saw the cover picture of “Plum” the dog, I was so reminded of my own sweet baby that I had to read this book. Not only is the cover of Plumdog, by Emma Chichester Clark, something pretty and delightful to look at or have sitting on the table, this diary of Plum, the whippet-Jack Russell-poodle mixed pup is touching and fun for any lover of dogs. Many pages reminded me of the antics of my own canines and brought on a smile or outright laugh as I was reading. Plum is involved both indoors and outside, and often ponders the “why’s” of the human goings-on. The logic and wondering that the author has given to the pooch, Plum, sounds just like what we can imagine our dogs thinking. I know my own best-friend has nursed me through a tummy ache, probably wondering (just as Ms. Clark has Plum wondering) why I won’t listen to her advice to go out and eat some grass! If you are looking for a light and fun read for yourself or as a gift, Plumdog will not disappoint you.
~I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for my honest review.
