Amish Broccoli Salad

If you have ever visited an Amish area you have probably
eaten at one of those delicious Amish restaurants.
The food is always plentiful and distinct.  One of the
staples of those spots is Amish Broccoli Salad.  After
years of wanting to figure out how to make it, I have finally 
managed to bring back memories of some of our
best family vacations in the form of this flavorful and crunchy salad!

Amish Broccoli Salad 
 
1 bunch fresh broccoli, chopped up
1 medium sweet onion, diced 
5-6 pieces of crispy cooked bacon, cut up
2 cups grated sharp cheddar cheese
 
mix all of these ingredients in a large bowl (I really like these bowls )
 
Dressing
 
3/4 cup mayonnaise
3/4 cup sour cream
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
 
mix all dressing ingredients together until dissolved and smooth.
add to salad mixture and stir well.
 
This salad is best served well chilled and can be
made a day ahead for the best flavor!

Ingredients
  1. 1 Bunch Broccoli
  2. 1 Medium Sweet Onion, Diced

  4. 2 Cups Cheddar Cheese, Grated
For the Dressing
  1. 3/4 Cup Mayonnaise
  2. 3/4 Cup Sour Cream

Instructions
  1. Mix the main salad ingredients together in a large bowl.
  2. Mix all dressing ingredients together until dissolved and smooth.
  3. Add the dressing mixture to the salad mixture and stir well.
