When I first began reading Amish fiction I didn’t know about Suzanne Woods Fisher. But I think it took only a couple of books for her to become my all time favorite Amish fiction writer! So naturally, I was thrilled when I was given the opportunity from Revell to read and review her latest book Two Steps Forward.
The day I got this book I opened it and started reading. I was not disappointed! The characters are well developed and intertwined to the point it feels like I am with them as I am reading. I can visualize everything Suzanne Woods Fisher is writing about thanks to her easy to understand descriptions and way of telling her stories.
In Two Steps Forward (Book 3 in The Deacons Family series) we get involved with the story of Rising Star Farm, Sylvie and Jimmy. Jimmy is the confirmed bachelor with perpetual cold feet, until he meets Sylvie and starts to question that way of life. Sylvie is raising Joey, a life changing move she made that has created ridicule and questions about her past. When the two come together to create an unusual horse farm their connection can’t be broken. Or can it? I have truly enjoyed the story of Sylvie and Jimmy, and all of their friends. I think anyone who is interested in Amish, or Christian, fiction will really enjoy reading this latest from Suzanne Woods Fisher.
