Are you a fan of Amish fiction, and Beverly Lewis? Then you will probably want to check out The Confession Musical, based on Mrs. Lewis book. I wasn’t too sure how her wonderful novel would become a musical, so when I had the chance to review it I had to see what it was all about.
The Confession Musical is filmed live in Shipshewana at the Blue Gate, and will be live in your local theatre one day only, on February 20th. Tickets are available now through this link- https://www.fathomevents.com/events/The-Confession-Musical.
The story of The Confession has long been one of my favorites- two worlds collide when a young Amish girl discovers she was adopted by a wealthy Christian family. As she seeks her birth mother, she has to overcome the obstacles of a lost fiancée, a shunning and a crafty gold-digger who seeks the fortune of her birth mother. Of course, she finds the love of her life, and as in all good Amish fiction there is a solid, wholesome ending.
The idea of the book becoming a musical seemed a little odd to me. I know the musical theaters are very popular in large Amish areas, such as Shipshewana but I have never been to one. I liked being able to have the experience through this movie. If you are looking for something unusual, well done, and “clean” for your family, this is sure to be an option!
