Advancing Native Missions

 

As Christmas approaches, I look for ways to give that actually make a difference—something with purpose, something that reaches farther than my own little circle. That’s why I keep coming back to the Advancing Native Missions Christmas Giving Catalog. I’ve shared ANM in previous years because their mission genuinely moves me.  (I’ll put a link to the catalog and some other good info about the credibility of ANM at the bottom of this post)

 

What sets ANM apart is who they support. These are local, native missionaries—people serving in their own countries, among their own communities, speaking their own languages. They don’t have to learn the culture or build trust from scratch. They already understand the challenges and the needs, and they’re deeply invested in sharing the hope of Christ right where they are. When you give through ANM, you’re strengthening the hands of those who know their people best.

 

And for me as a homesteader, the catalog hits in a personal way. I see livestock, poultry, seeds, sewing machines, and other practical tools—and I immediately understand the value. A few chickens can change how a family eats. A sewing machine can become steady income. Goats, pigs, farm tools… these aren’t symbolic gifts. They’re life-changing resources that create stability and dignity for families working hard to build a better future.

And if you’re a little skeptical, do your own research.  According to what I’ve learned, Charity Navigator gives ANM a 93% (4 Star) rating, which is quite high. That rating suggests strong accountability, financial health, and responsible management.
