It’s that time of year again for reading some great Christian Christmas novels! And The Christmas Joy Ride by Melody Carson has been nothing less than a joy to read. Every time I choose a Christmas novel I expect that it’s going to be pretty much the same as the others and follow a common theme or story line. After all, these stories are for Christmas and shouldn’t be sad or depressing! For me, a Christmas novel should all be all about faith, family, relationships, forgiveness, and inspiration. And The Christmas Joy Ride gives us great examples of all of those.
As Miranda and Joy embark on their Route 66 journey we see how they are able to support and help each other while blessing others along the way. While there are sad times and happy times on this journey the result is a peaceful and contented ending. As is typical in a Christmas novel there are unexpected surprises and gifts.
