It really is hard to believe that Christmas Day has now come and gone.
Even for a simpler Christmas, there is still decorating, planning, shopping and cooking.
There are church celebrations and services, cookie exchanges and parties.
It seems everybody is involved, and we all have fun with the secrets and the
multitude of ideas that lead up to that one day. More time is spent with
friends and family during the Christmas season,
and caring and kindness seem to abound.
So why is it that we have to make this one month so different?
Every year I long to hold onto these special weeks throughout the other
11 months of the year. This year I will again work toward a 12 month celebration
of the birth of our Savior. I will work to honor Him by being thankful and caring for
all that He has blessed us with- keeping our home, working together with my family
for organization and success, eating better to take care of my body, celebrating
often with like-minded Christians, taking the time to fellowship regularly,
and caring for others by remembering that my own needs are not always first on the list.
While I have always been thankful for the provisions from the Lord, I will
thank Him more often for the care and love that He gives to us daily.
I look forward to this next year, and to see what it will bring. All I know
is that we will take one day at a time, work hard to live like we should and strengthen our faith,
and wait on the Lords timing for all that we do!
Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness.
