What do you do when one of your favorite authors publishes a new book? You grab a copy and start reading, of course! That’s what I did with The Sweet Life by Suzanne Woods Fisher. And I could hardly put it down!
The Sweet Life had my attention from the first paragraph, and throughout this great read I laughed, I was sad, I rejoiced and cheered and I stressed right along side Dawn and Marnie. From the whimsical, care free ways of Marnie to the analytical, scheduled attitudes of Dawn this latest novel by Suzanne Woods Fisher is, in my opinion, one of her best non-Amish Christian fiction books.
As I read through the journey to create and open the Cape Cod Creamery I related to so many of the generational differences between Dawn, her mom Marnie, and the ever present Lincoln and Kevin. The relationships that form and grow are a true testament to the term “second chances”. Marnie gets to live out her late husbands dream while healing and mending alongside her broken and healing daughter. The sometimes not so subtle influences from Dawns ex-fiancé Kevin and their new friend Lincoln provide the women with opportunities to move into the next chapter of their lives.
